DEAR FELLOW TRAVELLERS!

WHY A PETER SCION BLOG?

While trodding the outbacks of internet, I've found there's a lingering interest in the music I made about ten years ago. Every now and then, I bump into places where you can download my albums, and I think it's great! I eagerly advocate such activities by anyone who finds it worth to sustain the interest in the songs I once wrote. However, I see that some people ask for more of my music, since my albums are virtually impossible to find. They had a limited distribution already upon their release, and as all of them were CD-R:s, I suspect they have a limited second hand appeal.

Therefore I have decided to upload my entire back catalogue for anyone who is interested in it. It's all for free, it's all legal - you may download as much as you like. If you want to leave a comment, it is much appreciated but I'm not one of these people who beg for response. It is all up to you what you prefer to do, and it's all fine by me. However, if you have any problems with the downloads, I encourage you to drop me a line so that I can fix it.

About:MOONJUNE RECORDS, which came into being in 2001 as the brainchild of entrepreneurial producer, tour manager and promoter Leonardo Pavkovic, is named after Soft Machine drummer Robert Wyatt’s famous 1970 epic “The Moon in June,” has already established a name for itself with “in the know” fans. Its focus is to release internationally-situated music by artists exploring the expanding boundaries of genuine, challenging, non-over-produced music that cannot be easily categorized into any specific format. MoonJune Records’ ongoing goal is to support music that transcends stylistic pigeon-holing, but operates within an evolutionary progressive musical continuum that places jazz at one end and rock at the other. The ever-expanding boundaries of these two musical categories have since come to include everything from progressive rock to ethno-jazz, from experimental avant-garde to jazz-rock, and anything in between.

JAPROCKSAMPLER

When I wrote JAPROCKSAMPLER, so little had been published in English on the subject that I was forced to create first my own miniature encyclopedia of information, gradually building up the picture from millions of tiny bits of information. Of course, when the book was finished, I was left with such a colossal repository of information that I have decided to bequeath it to all fans of Japanese rock across the world in the form of these 'Artist A-Z' and 'Group Sounds A-Z' sections. Hopefully, by employing these biographies as the bedrock, japrocksampler.com will eventually become an essential resource for all future Japanese music research.
