На электронную почту приват-доцента пришло письмо от сайта группы Nektar о выходе нового концертника под названием "Fortyfied". Ниже размещаем обложку альбома и забавное послание от группы: Dear privat-docent,
Just now, I was sitting at my mixing desk going through some stuff, and I had a sudden thought. So I called out to my long-suffering wife... "Hey Babe! What the heck happened to privat-docent?"
As far as we know, privat-docent, you're still alive and kicking. But we haven't heard from you so I figured I'd write you an email to clue you up on what's happening over here in Nektar land.
You may have noticed 2008 go by, in my case with a bit of a whizz (well they say it all speeds up when you're getting on a bit!) but as luck would have it, Nektar was able to do some touring in Europe AND --- wey hey! actually record some of it!
One thing I've noticed over the years is the slow change in Nektar's music, I suppose that having the two new guys (if you saw 'em you'd hardly call 'em new!!) in the band was always going to make a difference anyway but not just that. Have you noticed the descent/ascent - you'll have to make your own mind up about that - into meaningful lyrics? What I mean is, in times past, our lyrics were written to fit the music - yes! that's what we called it! - but now I think it is more and more the other way around don't you? And I guess that's fitting really because as one gets older one tends to think about things a little more and I guess feel about things too. Ah well, on to the announcement.

Yes yes we know! It's supposed to be spelled wrong, Nektar is Forty years young this very year, bow, bow, thank you, thank you.
So it is fitting then that Nektar's latest album should be called Fortyfied and also released this year - with a very special cover - to celebrate with you the forty years of thunder and joy experienced by those that sip the Nektar past and present!
Coming to a store near you (actually at the end of your mouse hand) very soon (actually as soon as the 16th April) is Nektar's latest offering, now, you could wait for it to trickle into the likes of Amazon (bless 'em) or onto a download site like iTunes but actually there is no need to wait at all! Coz we will have it right here in our very own Nektar store and as you know, each order is packed and delivered the very same day so that your precious prize gets to you as quickly as the modern postal services can handle.
Oh yeah! just one other thing, it will be cheaper in the Nektar store too, just because we can, we will.
