  Тhe musician formerly known as Cat Stevens is releasing his first pop album in 28 years. But don’t call the "Peace Train” singer by his previous title: he prefers the name Yusuf Islam, since converting to Islam in the late 1970s. After several decades away from the music biz, he is back to make more pop music.
  According to AHN, he has cracked a deal with Atlantic Records to create an album under his Ya Records label. Apparently, they have high hopes for his new tunes. "Yusuf's new songs are as moving and timeless as the classics that inspired a generation... His spiritual quest is one of the most extraordinary stories of our time - a life journey marked by courage, devotion and transformation," raves Atlantic Chairman/CEO Craig Kallman.
  So why the sudden return to the studio? Yusuf explains, "I feel right about making music and singing about life in this fragile world again... It is important for me to be able to help bridge the cultural gaps others are sometimes frightened to cross."
