Well, somebody was inevitably gonna be quick off the mark with a tribute album for the late Ronnie James Dio – and Masterplan vocalist Jorn Lande appears to have won this unedifying race. With unseemly haste, Lande has got an album called – wait for it! – Dio coming out on July 2 through Frontiers Records. Although we should also point out one mitigating circumstance: this was recorded prior to Dio’s death on May 16. It’s even got a track on there called Song For Ronnie James, as well as loads of covers of classic associated with the great man.
