Several marketing blunders and the fact that they didn't promote a single "front man" unfortunately doomed Moby Grape to regional success around San Francisco and cult status elsewhere. Moby Grape Live is the first official (non-bootleg) release of live performances, including sets at Avalon Ballroom, Monterey Pop Festival and various soundboard and radio broadcast tapes. The release showcases one of the best psychedelic rock bands, at the peak of the psych rock movement.
