Reunion-Ola: Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart begged off of a recent reunion of surviving members of Faces, but a new project with another of his early band mates is rapidly coming together. A couple of weeks ago, Rolling Stone reported on plans for a new album featuring Stewart and Jeff Beck. Now Classic Rockmagazine has gotten confirmation (and an interview) from Beck, who also hints at a tour to promote the album. "[I]t makes no sense not to tour it, have to! We can do just a couple of Hollywood Bowls here and some Madison Square Gardens there and then there's England. The O2 in London isn't what I'd want." The new album comes 42 years after Jeff Beck Group's Truth and Beck-Ola albums helped set the stage for future solo stardom for both artists. The ball started rolling on the new project after Stewart and Beck got together for a one-off performance in 2009. Beck is fresh from collecting two Grammy awards for his 2010 Emotion and Commotion album. Stewart recently announced plans to tour with Stevie Nicks. Yet to be announced: release date and track list for the new album. Stay tuned.
