of classic rock ‘n’ roll

Статуэтка Ziggy Stardust

From Led Zepplin to Jimi Hendrix, the Classic Rock Art Show displays musical art for all

WALBERT YOUNG TTN A statuette of Ziggy Stardust, made by artist Rose Manteghian, is a one-of-a-kind statue for sale at the Rock Art Show for $100. All the proceeds will go to the Little Steven Rock & Roll Forever Foundation.
The 11th Annual WMGK Classic Rock Art Show in Ardmore, Pa., transports visitors to a time when low rhythms of bass guitars pulsed through their veins as hot lights illuminated Jimi Hendrix or David Bowie standing center stage.
The Classic Rock Art Show, presented by 102.9 WMGK and Little Steven Van Zandt’s Rock and Roll Forever Foundation, is an extensive collection of rock ‘n’ roll masterpieces, ranging from photographs of Led Zeppelin to John
Lennon’s original drawings. In 1991, the curator of the show, Scott Segelbaum, created the Classic Rock Art Show in Los Angeles.

Classic Rock legends are coming to Ardmore this Friday -- well at least their art is.

The 11th annual 102.9 WMGK Classic Rock Art Show and Sale hits Suburban Square in Ardmore, Pa. featuring photos, paintings and drawings featuring rock legends like McCartney, Bruce, The Stones and many more.

A live broadcast with host Debbi Calton will kick off the festivities.

Admission is free and the show runs until Sunday, March 27.

Even if it's free to get in that doesn't mean that they aren't trying to sell you something. Artwork starts at just 5 bucks and ranges into the thousands. A portion of the sales will be donated to Little Steven Van Zandt’s Rock N Roll Forever Foundation. The charity will also receive 100 percent of the proceeds from local artist’s sales.

Special guest Gary Sohmers of Antiques Roadshow will be on hand March 18 to 20 to professionally appraise visitor’s memorabilia and showcase his own rare rock collectibles.

If you’re lucky, you may have the opportunity to take home works byJohn Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Hendrix or Jerry Garcia.

The exhibition will also feature photographs of the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Bruce Springsteen along with hand-signed artwork from the Beatles, gold records and concert tour posters.

The exhibit will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
