Cosmic Conn3ction is my first experience with the Stoney Curtis Band, but it won't be my last. The band was recommended to me by a new friend and I find that I am now in her debt. Stoney Curtis Band exhibits an almost suspicious amount of talent for three musicians playing their own compositions. I can't pigeonhole the band into one category - it provides examples of Chicago Blues, Heavy Metal, R&B - even hints of boogie woogie, but however one labels it, it is absolutely great music. In fact, if experienced while behind the wheel, the CD probably qualifies as a "Driving Distraction" in 21 states. More knowledgeable critics might discuss the complexity of individual instrumental parts, vocals and rhythms and describe in great depth how the music compares to other great works. I'm not an expert, but I liked every cut on the CD the first time I heard it and I've enjoyed it more each time I've listened to it. I hope to see the band live, soon. (By EGP Chicag)
